School of Character Application
The schools and districts that apply must meet the rigorous standards articulated in Character.org’s 11 Principles Framework for Schools. We support schools as they develop and strengthen their comprehensive character initiative and ensure every student understands, cares about, and consistently practices the core values that will help them flourish in life.
Schools of Character applications will open on July 3, 2026, and will close at 11:59pm EST on November 20, 2026. Mock Audits are open all year.
Promising Practice Application
Each year we celebrate creative and innovative practices, programs, and approaches that schools, districts, and organizations have put in place that demonstrate a positive impact and strongly align with Character.org’s 11 Principles that help schools, districts, and organizations cultivate a culture of character.
The Promising Practice Application last closed on March 27, 2026. Stay tuned for the next application opening period this Fall.
Laws of Life Essay Submission
The Laws of Life essay contest encourages middle school and high school students to reflect and write about a core value that means the most to them – and why. The program is available to all students in middle schools and high schools across the world. Please submit your Laws of Life essay at the link below.
